Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2008 🢒 G8 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L, or 3.6L 🢒 Camshaft Removal - Left Side

    Object Number: 1958834 Size: SH

    Important: EN 46105  (2) was installed to the camshafts (1) as part of the left bank cylinder head camshaft position actuator removal procedure.

  1. Remove the EN 46105  (2) from the left bank camshafts (1).
  2. Position the camshaft lobes in a neutral position.

    3. Object Number: 1958837 Size: SH
  3. Observe the markings (1) on the bearing caps. Each bearing cap is marked in order to identify its location. The markings have the following meanings:
    4. • The raised feature must always be oriented toward the center of the cylinder head.
    • The I indicates the intake camshaft.
    • The E indicates the exhaust camshaft.
    • The number indicates the journal position from the front of the cylinder block.

  4. Remove the camshaft bearing cap to cylinder head retaining bolts (3).
  5. Remove the camshaft bearing caps (1 and 2).

    6. Object Number: 1958842 Size: SH
  6. Remove the camshafts (1).
