Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1937137 Size: SH

    Important:  When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Install a suitable hood brace to the vehicle.

    2. Important: The secondary hood latch retaining pin (1) is a single use part only. It must be discarded after removal.

  2. Remove the secondary hood latch retaining pin (1) from the secondary hood latch (2).

    3. Discard the pin.

  3. Remove the secondary hood latch (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1937137 Size: SH
  1. Install the secondary hood latch (2) to the vehicle.
  2. Install a NEW secondary hood latch retaining pin (1) to the secondary hood latch.

    3. Object Number: 1937143 Size: SH
  3. Crimp the exposed end of the secondary hood latch retaining pin (1) capturing the retaining pin in its finished position.
