Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2008 🢒 G8 🢒 Body Repair 🢒 Bolted Exterior Body Panels and Closures 🢒 Hood Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Apply tape to the corners of the panels and adjacent surfaces.

    2. Important:  When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  2. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  3. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1936398 Size: SH
  4. Remove the hood hinge to dash and cowl panel brace retaining bolts (1).
  5. Remove the hood hinge (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1936398 Size: SH
  1. Install the hood hinge (2) to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the hood hinge to dash and cowl panel brace retaining bolts (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  3. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  4. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  5. Adjust the hood as necessary. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
  6. Carefully remove the tape from the corners of the panels and adjacent surfaces.
