The EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) is part of the printed circuit board housed within the driver information display. It stores variables required for the operation of the entertainment system.
The driver information display runs the program to detect an internal fault or compatibility concern when the radio changes from OFF to ON.
• | The driver information display internal EEPROM has failed or is corrupt. |
• | An incompatible driver information display is installed to the infotainment unit. |
• | The driver information display that is installed is compatible but different from the current learned type. |
The system will set the DTC and not function.
• | The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present. |
• | The DTC can be cleared using a scan tool. |
This DTC may be an indication that an driver information display is installed in the vehicle, or that the facia was replaced without reprogramming with the new information.
