Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  2. Remove the seat belt tensioner trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Belt Front Trim Cover Replacement.
  3. Remove the front seat outer rear track cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Rear Finish Cover Replacement.
  4. Remove the front seat outer front track cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Front Finish Cover Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 2041093 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the seat belt tensioner electrical connector (1).

    6. Object Number: 2041094 Size: SH

    Important: Note the wiring and connector routing during the removal, in order to route the wiring correctly during assembly.

  6. Depress the harness retaining tab (1) and detach the seat belt tensioner harness from the seat cable tray mounted to the seat adjuster.

  7. Remove the seat belt tensioner to seat adjuster retaining torx bolt (1).
  8. Remove the seat belt tensioner  (2) from the seat adjuster.

    9. Important: The front seat belt assembly and seat belt tensioner are serviced as a complete assembly.

  9. Remove the front seat belt assembly. Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement.

Installation Procedure

    Important: The front seat belt assembly and seat belt tensioner are serviced as a complete assembly.

  1. Install the front seat belt assembly. Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement.

    2. Object Number: 2041095 Size: SH
  2. Install the seat belt tensioner  (2) to the seat adjuster.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the seat belt tensioner to seat adjuster retaining torx bolt (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the torx bolt to 42  N·m (31 lb ft).

    Important: Route the seat belt tensioner harness (as noted in the removal procedure) and attach to the seat cable tray (1).

  4. Attach the seat belt tensioner harness to the seat cable tray (1), mounted to the seat adjuster.

    5. Object Number: 2041093 Size: SH
  5. Connect the seat belt tensioner electrical connector (1).
  6. Install the front seat outer front track cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Front Finish Cover Replacement.
  7. Install the front seat outer rear track cover. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Outer Adjuster Rear Finish Cover Replacement.
  8. Install the seat belt tensioner trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Belt Front Trim Cover Replacement.
  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  10. If re-programming is required. Refer to Control Module References.
