Removal Procedure - Front (with Sunroof)
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
- Remove the sunroof switch. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement.
- Remove the dome lamp assembly to roof retaining screws (1).
- Remove the dome lamp assembly (1) from the headliner assembly.
- Disconnect the overhead console courtesy lamp assembly electrical connector (2).
- Disconnect the OnStar® microphone electrical connector (1).
- Remove the overhead console courtesy lamp assembly (3) from the vehicle.
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
Important: For servicing of the LED lighting (ambient lighting) replacement of the complete assembly will be necessary as the LED is not a serviceable item.
Important: The headliner can be easily damaged or discoloured. Use care when working in the area of the headliner.
Important: Grasp the dome lamp assembly (1) and pull downwards to remove the dome lamp assembly (1) from the headliner assembly.
Installation Procedure - Front (with Sunroof)
- Install the dome lamp assembly (3) to the vehicle.
- Connect the OnStar® microphone connector (1).
- Connect the overhead console courtesy lamp assembly electrical connector (2).
- Insert the two locating arms into the headlining assembly.
- Carefully push the dome lamp assembly (1) into the headlining assembly.
- Install the dome lamp assembly to roof retaining screw (3).
- Install the sunroof switch. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement.
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
- Test dome lamp assembly for correct operation.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Removal Procedure - Front (without Sunroof)
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
- Open the sun glasses storage compartment (1) to reveal the retaining screw (2).
- Remove the dome lamp assembly to roof retaining screw (2).
- Remove the dome lamp assembly (3) from the headliner assembly (4).
- Disconnect the overhead console courtesy lamp assembly electrical connector (2).
- Disconnect the OnStar® microphone electrical connector (1).
- Remove the dome lamp assembly (3) from the vehicle.

Important: Grasp the dome lamp assembly (3) and pull downwards to remove the dome lamp assembly (3) from the headliner assembly (4).
Installation Procedure - Front (without Sunroof)
- Install the dome lamp assembly (3) to the vehicle.
- Connect the OnStar® microphone connector (1).
- Connect the overhead console courtesy lamp assembly electrical connector (2).
- Insert the two locating arms (1) into the headlining assembly (4).
- Push the dome lamp assembly (5) up into the headlining assembly (4).
- Install the dome lamp assembly to roof retaining screw (3).
- Close the sun glasses storage compartment (2).
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Removal Procedure - Rear
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
- Remove the rear dome lamp assembly (1) from the headliner assembly.
- Disconnect the dome lamp assembly electrical connector (2).
- Remove the rear dome lamp assembly (1) from the vehicle.
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
Important: The headliner can be easily damaged or discoloured. Use care when working in the area of the headliner.
Important: Using a suitable tool, gently pry the front of the rear dome lamp assembly (1) and pivot the rear dome lamp assembly (1) down and pull forward to clear the rear locking arms (3) from the headliner assembly.
Installation Procedure - Rear
- Connect the dome lamp assembly electrical connector (2).
- Install the rear dome lamp assembly (1) to the headliner assembly.
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
Important: Position the dome lamp assembly rear locking arms (3) into the headliner and pivot the front of the lamp assembly (1) up and into the headliner assembly.
