Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

    2. Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
  3. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  4. Remove the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement .
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  6. Remove the front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  7. Remove the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  8. Remove the front fender sound insulator. Refer to Front Fender Insulator Replacement .
  9. Remove the rocker panel moulding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
  10. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  11. Remove the front bumper fascia bracket. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Bracket Replacement .
  12. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .
  13. Remove the side indicator. Refer to Repeater Lamp Replacement .

  14. Remove the front fender to front end module retaining bolt (1).

    15. Object Number: 1936673 Size: SH
  15. Remove the front fender to body side retaining bolts (1).

    16. Object Number: 1936417 Size: SH
  16. Remove the front fender to door pillar retaining bolts (1).

    17. Object Number: 1936485 Size: SH
  17. Remove the front fender to inner wheelhouse retaining bolts (1).
  18. Remove the front fender from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1937147 Size: SH
  1. Apply an even amount of urethane GMW3041 or equivalent (Between the second and fourth swage (A) and 25 mm wide (B) of the upper wheelhouse brace).
  2. Position the front fender to the vehicle.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1936485 Size: SH

    Important: Do not fully tighten at this stage.

  3. Install the front fender to inner wheelhouse retaining bolts (1).

    4. Do not fully tighten at this stage.

    Important: Do not fully tighten at this stage.

  4. Install the front fender to door pillar retaining bolts (1).

    5. Do not fully tighten at this stage.

    Important: Do not fully tighten at this stage.

  5. Install the front fender to body side retaining bolts (1)

    6. Do not fully tighten at this stage.

    Important: Do not fully tighten at this stage.

  6. Install the front fender to front end module retaining bolt (1)

    7. Do not fully tighten at this stage.

  7. Install the front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  8. Lower the vehicle.

  9. Tighten the front fender to inner wheelhouse retaining bolts (1)

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  10. Tighten the front fender to door pillar retaining bolts (1).

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).


    Object Number: 1936673 Size: SH
  11. Tighten the front fender to body side retaining bolts (1).

    12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  12. Tighten the front fender to front end module retaining bolt (1).

    13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  13. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  14. Remove the front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  15. Install the front fender sound insulator. Refer to Front Fender Insulator Replacement .
  16. Install the side indicator. Refer to Repeater Lamp Replacement .
  17. Install the rocker panel moulding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
  18. Install the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .
  19. Install the front bumper fascia bracket. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Bracket Replacement .
  20. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  21. Install the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  22. Install the front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  23. Lower the vehicle.
  24. Install the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement .
  25. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  26. Carefully remove the tape from the corners of the panels and adjacent surfaces.
