This code indicates that the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) has received an invalid vehicle identification number (VIN) from the body control module (BCM).
System voltage is between 9-16 volts.
• | The VIN is not programmed in the SDM. |
• | Communication is lost between the SDM and BCM. |
DTC B1016 is a Type B DTC.
• | The VIN number is reprogrammed in the SDM. |
• | A valid VIN is received from the BCM. |
