Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

    2. Warning: Refer to SIR Warning in the Preface section.

  2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  3. Remove the left closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side.
  4. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
  5. Remove the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement.

    6. Object Number: 1955548 Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) electrical connectors (1) from the BCM (2).

    7. Object Number: 1955549 Size: SH

    Note: Release the lower retaining clips (1), lift the BCM and unhook the upper retaining clip (2).

  7. Remove the BCM (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1955549 Size: SH

    Note: Locate the upper retaining clip (2) and engage the lower retaining clips (1).

  1. Install the BCM (3).

    2. Object Number: 1955548 Size: SH
  2. Connect the body control module (BCM) electrical connectors (1) to the BCM (2).
  3. Install the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement.
  4. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
  5. Install the left closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side.

    6. Warning: Refer to SIR Warning in the Preface section.

  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
