Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement for Pontiac G8 2009

1. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
2. Remove the right close out panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side.
3. Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement.




Note: The right side is shown, the left side is similar.

4. Remove the I/P retainer to I/P carrier retaining screws (1).
5. Remove the I/P retainer.

1. Align the I/P retainer to the I/P carrier.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the I/P retainer to I/P carrier retaining screws (1) and tighten to 2 N·m (18 lb in)..
3. Install the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement.
4. Install the right close out panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side.
5. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
