Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1936747 Size: SH

    Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the front and rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Open the front and rear doors affected side of the vehicle.
  4. Remove the front wheelhouse liner to rocker panel retaining screws (1).

  5. Remove the rear wheelhouse liner to rocker panel retaining screws (1).
  6. Pull the bottom edge of the rocker panel moulding away from the rocker panel to disengage the retainers.
  7. Use a suitable tool to gently separate the front of the rocker panel moulding from the rocker panel.
  8. With the aid of an assistant, carefully remove the rocker panel moulding from the body.

    9. Object Number: 1940103 Size: SH

    Note: The rocker panel moulding retaining clips (1 and 2) are single use parts. They must be discarded after removal.

  9. Remove the rocker panel moulding retaining clips (1 and 2) from the rocker panel moulding (3).

    10. Discard the retaining clips.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1940103 Size: SH

    Note: New retainer clips (1 and 2) are required for the installation of the rocker panel moulding (3). The retainer clips (1 and 2) will break upon removal.

    Note: Protect the paint and body work with tape or a clean cloth. Failure to do so may result in damage to painted surfaces.

  1. Install all new rocker panel retaining clips (1 and 2) into the rocker panel moulding (3).

  2. With the aid of an assistant, position the rocker panel moulding to the body.
  3. Starting from the centre of the rocker panel moulding, apply pressure to secure the rocker panel moulding retaining clips to the upper part of the rocker panel.
  4. Starting from the centre of the rocker panel moulding, apply pressure to secure the rocker panel moulding retaining clips to the lower part of the rocker panel.
  5. Close the vehicle doors.

    6. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Install the rear wheelhouse liner to rocker panel retaining screws (1) and tighten to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

    7. Object Number: 1936747 Size: SH
  7. Install the front wheelhouse liner to rocker panel retaining screws (1) and tighten to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
  8. Install the front and rear wheels. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  10. Close the front and rear doors.
