Removal Procedure

  1. Place a drain pan below the vehicle in order to catch any power steering fluid.

  2. Object Number: 1382285  Size: SH
  3. Loosen the hose clamp (3) on the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose.
  4. Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Remove the outlet hose (4) from the reservoir.
  6. Loosen the hose clamp (5) on the reservoir inlet hose.
  7. Remove the inlet hose (6) from the reservoir.
  8. Use a flat blade tool in order to release the tab on the bracket (10) that retains the power steering fluid reservoir. Lift the reservoir (1) up and away from the tab.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1382285  Size: SH
  1. Slide the power steering fluid reservoir (1) onto the bracket (10). Verify the tab on the bracket retains the reservoir.
  2. Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the reservoir inlet hose (6) to the reservoir. Install the hose clamp (5).
  4. Install the reservoir outlet hose (4) to the reservoir. Install the hose clamp (3).
  5. Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Fill the reservoir. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  7. Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  9. Remove the drain pan.
