Does the system operate normally?

  1. Turn the ignition on.
  2. Ensure that the park brake is released.

Does the brake warning indicator LED extinguish?

Disconnect the brake fluid level switch.

Did the warning lamp turn off?

Disconnect the brake fluid level switch.

Did the warning lamp turn off?

Test the brake warning signal circuit between the Instrument Panel and the parking brake switch and brake fluid level switch for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit TestingCircuit Testing and Wiring RepairsWiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the parking brake switch.
