Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument panel trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Remove the Inflatable restraint Instrument panel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
- Remove the retaining screw from the driver side outer duct (4).
- Separate the driver side inner duct (3) from the outer duct.
- Remove the inner duct from the HVAC module outlet.
- Remove the driver side inner and outer ducts from the vehicle.
- Remove the passenger side duct (1) from the HVAC module outlet.
- Remove the passenger side duct from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the passenger side duct (1) to the vehicle.
- Install the passenger side duct to the HVAC module outlet.
- Install the driver side inner duct (3) and outer duct (4) to the vehicle.
- Install the inner duct to the HVAC module outlet.
- Connect the driver side inner duct to the outer duct.
- Secure the driver side outer duct with the retaining screw.
- Install the Inflatable restraint Instrument panel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
- Install the instrument panel trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
