    • J 42066 Rear Hub Holding Tool
    • J 43631 Ball Joint Remover

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  2. Install the J 42066 , or the equivalent tool, and 2 wheel nuts onto 2 studs in order to prevent the hub from turning.

  3. Object Number: 649304  Size: SH
  4. Use the J 43631 , or the equivalent tool, in order to remove the wheel stud.
  5. Use the same process in order to remove the other 4 wheel studs.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 65317  Size: SH

    CAUTION:: If one stud is damaged, replace all the studs. A loose-running wheel may cause only one stud to break, but the other studs could have internal fatigue. Replacing only the broken stud and remounting the wheel may cause further damage and personal injury. If the stud holes in the wheels have become enlarged or distorted, replace the wheel.

  1. Install the wheel stud (3) into the stud hole.
  2. Install 3 washers and a wheel nut (2) onto the wheel stud.
  3. Install the J 42066 , or the equivalent tool, and 2 wheel nuts onto 2 studs in order to prevent the hub from turning.
  4. Tighten the wheel nut (2) in order to seat the wheel stud.
  5. Use the same process in order to install the other 4 wheel studs.
  6. Remove the wheel nut and the 3 washers.
  7. Remove the J 42066 , or the equivalent tool, and the 2 wheel nuts.
  8. Install the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
