Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1378594  Size: SH
  1. Remove the center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the temperature control rod (2) from the rod retainer (1).

  3. Object Number: 1378588  Size: SH
  4. Remove the screws (3) retaining the HVAC control assembly (2)
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) from the HVAC control assembly.

  6. Object Number: 1378594  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the vacuum hose connectors (3, 4) from the HVAC control assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1378594  Size: SH
  1. Connect the vacuum hose connectors (3, 4) to the HVAC control assembly.

  2. Object Number: 1378588  Size: SH
  3. Install the HVAC control assembly (2) to the instrument panel.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Secure the HVAC control assembly with the screws (3).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m(18 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the HVAC control assembly.

  9. Install the temperature control rod (2) to the rod retainer (1).
  10. Install the center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
