For 1990-2009 cars only
- With the brake pedal (1) in the fully released position, ensure that the stop lamp plunger is fully depressed against the brake pedal shanks.
- Disconnect the wiring harness connector (4) from the switch assembly (3).
- The gap (a) between the switch assembly and the support bracket (2) is between 5-6 mm (0.20-0.23 in).
- To adjust the gap, rotate the switch assembly clockwise or counterclockwise to decrease or increase the gap distance accordingly.
- Connect the electrical connector (4) to the switch assembly (3).
- Inspect the stop lamp switch for proper adjustment.
