Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
- Release the electronic brake control module (EBCM) harness connector lock (1).
- Disconnect the EBCM harness connector (2).
- Remove the 6 brake pipes from the brake modulator assembly (3).
- Plug the brake pipes in order to prevent loss or contamination of brake fluid.
- Remove 2 nuts (4) securing the brake pressure modulator to the bracket (5).
- Remove the brake pressure modulator (3).
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the brake pressure modulator assembly (3) to the bracket (5). Secure with 2 nuts (4).
Tighten
Tighten the brake modulator assembly nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
- Remove the plugs from brake pipes and connect the brake pipes to the brake modulator assembly (3).
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fittings nuts to 13.5 N·m (10 lb ft).
- Connect the EBCM electrical connector (2).
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
in Hydraulic Brakes.
- Using the scan tool, perform the System Configuration under the ABS Special Functions menu.
- Perform
Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
.
