Condition/Concern:
There are currently 2 Body Control Modules (BCM) listed for the 2006 Pontiac GTO. The correct BCM needs to be installed in the vehicle so that all of the features function as designed.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If diagnosis leads to replacing the BCM, use the correct part number below based on model year:
2005 Pontiac GTO BCM P/N 92176590
2006 Pontiac GTO BCM P/N 92179694
Note: If the 2005 part number is used in the 2006 vehicle, the power door lock button on the center console will be inoperative.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
