DTC Descriptor

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

DTC B0001 Over Voltage

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The DTC sets when a short to battery voltage is detected on the following outputs: Indicators, Front Intermittent Wiper, Aircon / Priority 2, Demist / Priority 1, Main Horn, Accessory Relay and Low Speed Fan.

Diagnostic Aids

When DTC 1 is set, refer to the section relevant to the function listed.

DTC 1 can also be set by electrical transients. Therefore, if DTC 1 is set and there are no noticeable problems with the vehicle, clear DTC and check function of body control module (BCM) outputs. If DTC does not reset and BCM outputs are functioning correctly, disregard DTC 1.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, monitor the DTC Information for DTC 1 in the Body Control Module (BCM).

Does the scan tool indicate that DTC 1 is current?

Inspect the following BCM outputs for a short to voltage:

    • Indicators
    • Front Intermittent Wiper
    • Aircon/Priority 2
    • Demist Priority 1
    • Main Horn
    • Accessory Relay
    • Low Speed Fan
