---------- Some 1992 Pontiac Grand Am's may experience a condition where the instrument panel cover may not stay seated to the instrument panel after reseated.
------ High foam seal density may prevent the retaining clips from fully seating into the bosses and may allow the cover to "pop up" in service.
----------- The condition may be corrected as follows:
1. Remove the I/P cluster cover as outlined in the 1992 Pontiac Grand Am Service Manual, Section 8C, page 8C-9.
2. Trim foam seal and remove shaded portion as shown in Figure 1.
3. Reinstall I/P cover as outlined in the 1992 Pontiac Grand Am Service Manual.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
