MOISTURE COLLECTING IN FOG LAMP (REPL. FOG LAMP AND BULB)

SUBJECT: MOISTURE COLLECTING IN FOG LAMP (REPLACE FOG LAMP AND BULB)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992-93 PONTIAC "N" SERIES

CONDITION:

--------- Some 1992-93 Pontiac Grand Am's equipped with fog lamps built before breakpoints PM561565 or PC746168 may experience a condition where moisture collects in the fog lamp assembly.

CAUSE:

----- The vent in the 10 o'clock position may become plugged causing moisture to be drawn through the lamp electrical connector. A revised sealed bulb is now used in production that prevents this condition and is available for service. The revised lamp has the vent in the bottom or 6 o'clock position.

CORRECTION:

---------- Replace fog lamp, P/N 5977337, and bulb, P/N 11516247, with revised parts as outlined in the service manual, Section 8B.

For vehicles repaired under warranty use:

Labour Operation: Right N1466 Left N1467

Labour Time: 0.3 Hours for each
