Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 12760  Size: SH
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Drain fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  3. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  4. Remove the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .
  5. Remove the bumper from modular fuel sender assembly.
  6. Remove the fuel level sensor (1) from modular fuel sender.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12760  Size: SH
  1. Fuel level sensor (1) to modular fuel sender.
  2. Install the bumper to modular fuel sender assembly.
  3. Install the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .
  4. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  5. Refill tank.
  6. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  8. Check for fuel leaks.
  9. 7.1. Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.
    7.2. Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.
    7.3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    7.4. Check for fuel leaks.
