Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Remove the upper air intake splash shield by rotating the retainers
1/4 turn counter-clockwise.
- Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to
Headlamp Assembly Replacement
.
- Remove the socket from the assembly by turning counter-clockwise and
pulling out.
Caution: Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly
could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. To help avoid personal
injury:
• | Turn off the lamp switch and allow the bulb to cool before changing
the bulb. |
• | Leave the lamp switch OFF until the bulb change is complete. |
• | Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb. |
• | Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass. |
• | Keep dirt and moisture off the bulb. |
• | Properly dispose of the used bulb. |
• | Keep halogen bulbs out of the reach of children. |
- Using a vertical rocking motion, pull the bulb rearward.
- Use the following procedure in order to disconnect the electrical
connector:
| Important: DO NOT grip the bulb glass or the wires.

6.1. | With one hand, grip the wiring harness end of the bulb. |
6.2. | With the other hand, grip the base of the bulb. |
6.3. | Carefully pull the bulb base apart from the wiring harness. |
Installation Procedure
- Install the bulb into the headlamp connector socket, with the
high beam connector attached to the high beam lamp.
- Align the socket flange notch with the headlamp assembly key way.
- Insert the socket into the headlamp assembly. Turn the socket clockwise
until fully retained.
- Install the lamp assembly. Refer to
Headlamp Assembly Replacement
.
- Install the upper air intake splash shield by rotating the retainers
1/4 turn counter-clockwise.
- Close the hood.
