Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the upper air intake splash shield by rotating the retainers 1/4 turn counter-clockwise.
  3. Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 293653  Size: SH
  5. Remove the socket from the assembly by turning counter-clockwise and pulling out.
  6. Caution: Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. To help avoid personal injury:

       • Turn off the lamp switch and allow the bulb to cool before changing the bulb.
       • Leave the lamp switch OFF until the bulb change is complete.
       • Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb.
       • Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass.
       • Keep dirt and moisture off the bulb.
       • Properly dispose of the used bulb.
       • Keep halogen bulbs out of the reach of children.

  7. Using a vertical rocking motion, pull the bulb rearward.
  8. Use the following procedure in order to disconnect the electrical connector:
  9.         Important: DO NOT grip the bulb glass or the wires.

    6.1. With one hand, grip the wiring harness end of the bulb.
    6.2. With the other hand, grip the base of the bulb.
    6.3. Carefully pull the bulb base apart from the wiring harness.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bulb into the headlamp connector socket, with the high beam connector attached to the high beam lamp.
  2. Align the socket flange notch with the headlamp assembly key way.

  3. Object Number: 293653  Size: SH
  4. Insert the socket into the headlamp assembly. Turn the socket clockwise until fully retained.
  5. Install the lamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly Replacement .
  6. Install the upper air intake splash shield by rotating the retainers 1/4 turn counter-clockwise.
  7. Close the hood.
