Removal Procedure
- Remove the washer solvent
from the container.
- Remove the screw from the mounting tab at the neck of the solvent
container.
- Remove the wheelhouse
panel. Refer to
Wheelhouse Panel Replacement
.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and the washer hose from the
washer pump.
- Remove two screws from the container mounting brackets.
- Remove the container from the inner fender.
- Remove the washer pump from the container.
Installation Procedure
Important: The washer pump must be pushed completely into the container seal.
- Install the washer pump into the solvent container.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Insert the neck
of the container into the engine compartment, then attach the container with
two screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Install the washer hose and the electrical connector.
- Install the wheelhouse panel. Refer to
Wheelhouse Panel Replacement
.
- Attach the neck of the
container with the screw.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Fill the solvent container with washer solvent.
