Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 510858  Size: SH
  1. Remove the accessory trim plate from the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Center Trim Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the screws from the tape player (1).
  3. Pull the tape player (1) from the instrument panel in order to gain access to the electrical connector (2).
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the tape player (1).
  5. Remove the tape player (1) from the instrument panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the tape player (1) to the instrument panel.
  2. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the tape player (1).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the screws to the tape player (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (17 lb in).

  6. Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Center Trim Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
