  1. Remove the rearview mirror from the windshield. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement .
  2. Use a grease pencil in order to mark the location of the rearview mirror mount on the outside of the windshield.
  3. Use a razor blade placed flat against the windshield to remove any old adhesive from the repair area.
  4. Clean the repair area with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.
  5. Sand the bonding surface of the rearview mirror support with emery cloth (320 or 360) in order to remove any old adhesive.
  6. Apply the activator from the rearview mirror adhesive kit GM P/N 1052369 to the following areas:
    7. • The windshield repair area
    • The rearview mirror mount
  7. Allow the activator to dry for 5 minutes.

    8. DO NOT touch the mounting surface of the windshield or the rearview mirror mount after you apply the activator.

  8. Apply one drop of adhesive to the rearview mirror mount.
  9. Immediately apply the rearview mirror mount to the windshield.

    10. Align the mount with the location mark made previously on the windshield.

  10. Firmly hold the mount in position for 1 minute.

    11. Allow the adhesive to set up for 15  minutes before you attach the rearview mirror.

  11. Attach the rearview mirror to the rearview mirror mount. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement .
