- Remove the rearview mirror
from the windshield. Refer to

.
- Use a grease pencil in order to mark the location of the rearview
mirror mount on the outside of the windshield.
- Use a razor blade placed flat against the windshield to remove
any old adhesive from the repair area.
- Clean the repair area with isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.
- Sand the bonding surface of the rearview mirror support with emery
cloth (320 or 360) in order to remove any old adhesive.
- Apply the activator from the rearview mirror adhesive kit GM P/N 1052369
to the following areas:
• | The windshield repair area |
• | The rearview mirror mount |
- Allow the activator to dry for 5 minutes.
DO NOT touch the mounting surface of the windshield or the rearview
mirror mount after you apply the activator.
- Apply one drop of adhesive to the rearview mirror mount.
- Immediately apply the rearview mirror mount to the windshield.
Align the mount with the location mark made previously on the windshield.
- Firmly hold the mount in position for 1 minute.
Allow the adhesive to set up for 15 minutes before you attach
the rearview mirror.
- Attach the rearview mirror to the rearview mirror mount. Refer
