Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  3. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  4. Remove the quarter trim panels. Refer to the following procedures in Interior Trim:
  5. •  Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement
    •  Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement
  6. Remove the rear window trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Reveal Molding Replacement in Stationary Windows.

  7. Object Number: 384479  Size: SH
  8. Place the bar (6) in the hole (7) in order to relieve spring pressure from the hinge arms (9).
  9. Remove the hinge assembly nuts (10).
  10. Remove the hinge assembly (3).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 384479  Size: SH
  1. Install the hinge assembly (3).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hinge assembly nuts (10).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  5. Install the rear window trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Reveal Molding Replacement in Stationary Windows.
  6. Install the quarter trim panels. Refer to the following procedures in Interior Trim:

    •  Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement
  8. Install the seatback. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  9. Install the seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  10. Remove the bar (6) from the hole (7).
