Removal Procedure

  1. Inspect the rear compartment lid in order to ensure that the lid is properly aligned from side to side and front to rear.

  2. Object Number: 384488  Size: SH
  3. Remove the cable assembly screw (5).
  4. Remove the cable assembly (4).
  5. Remove the bolts (2) that retain the lock 61) to the lid.
  6. Remove the rear compartment lock (6).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 384488  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lock (6) to the lid.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts (1) that retain the lock (6) to the lid.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  5. Install the cable assembly (4).
  6. Install the cable assembly screw (5).
  7. Loosen the bolts.
  8. Install the lock to the striker.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  10. Inspect the engagement of the lock to the striker.
