Removal Procedure
- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Remove the air filter element retaining screws and remove the
cover.
- Remove the air filter
element. Inspect the air filter element and replace if necessary.
- Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the IAT sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the breather tube from the air intake duct.
- Loosen the 2 air intake duct clamps and remove the air intake
duct.
Installation Procedure
- Install the air filter element in the air cleaner assembly.
- Position the air filter
cover on the air cleaner assembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the air
filter retainer screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 5-7 N·m (35-45 lb in).
- Install the air intake duct.
- Tighten the 2 air intake duct clamps.
- Connect the breather tube to the air intake duct.
- Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector.
- Connect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
