Tires

Tires that have unequal contact and unequal grip on road surfaces cause unequal braking. The following conditions may adversely affect braking performance:

    • Unequal tire inflation
    • The tires are different sizes
    • The tires have different tread patterns

Vehicle Loading

A heavily loaded vehicle requires more braking effort. On a vehicle with unequal loading, the most heavily loaded wheels require more braking effort than the other wheels.

Wheel Alignment

Misalignment of the wheels, particularly excessive camber and caster, causes the brakes to pull to one side.
