This vehicle is equipped with the following systems:
| • | The Delco ABS VI Antilock Brake System (ABS) |
| • | An Enhanced Traction System (ETS) |
The ABS VI regulates the brake pressure as follows:
| • | Each of the front wheels |
| • | Both rear wheels, as a pair |
The ABS VI regulates the brake pressure in order to reduce wheel slip. Reduced wheel slip improves the driver's control of the vehicle during braking.
Improved stability and steering enable greater control of the vehicle in the case of an abrupt stop.
The ABS operation is available from 5 km/h (3 mph) to the maximum vehicle speed.
The ABS and the ETS are part of the same hydraulic and electric system. The two systems use many of the same components. A problem in one of the two systems may disable the other system until the problem is repaired.
The antilock braking controls wheel slip during braking.
The Enhanced Traction System (ETS) helps to control wheel spin at the driven wheels. Control of the wheel spin assists in maintaining vehicle stability and acceleration (drive traction) under changing road and vehicle load conditions.
