Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  3. Object Number: 82216  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  5. Remove the EVAP vent valve bracket bolt.
  6. Remove the EVAP vent valve from the bracket.

  7. Object Number: 82219  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the vent hose from the EVAP vent valve.
  9. Remove the EVAP vent valve.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 82216  Size: SH
  1. Install the EVAP vent valve on bracket.
  2. Connect the vent hose. Canister vent hose should be routed below the fuel tank fill and vent hoses.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Reinstall the EVAP vent valve bracket.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten bracket bolt to 10 N·m(35 lb ft).

  6. Connect the EVAP vent valve electrical connector.
  7. Reinstall the EVAP vent valve retaining screw.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the vent valve retaining screw to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
