Removal Procedure
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the inside door handle. Refer to
Door Outside Handle Replacement
.
- Disconnect the door wiring harness from all related components,
and pull free from the door frame.
- Remove the door check
link. Refer to
Door Check Link Replacement
.
- Support the door.
- Mark the position of the door hinge relative to the hinge pillar.
- Remove the lower hinge bolts (3) from the hinge pillar.
- Remove the upper hinge bolts (2) from the hinge pillar
- Remove the rear door (1) from the body.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear door (1)
to the body.
- Snug the upper and lower hinge bolts (4) in order for the
door to move.
- Carefully close the door (1).
- Adjust the door for proper alignment.
- Open the door slowly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the upper
hinge bolts (2) to the hinge pillar.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the lower hinge bolts (2) to the hinge pillar.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Inspect the door for proper alignment.
- Install the door check link. Refer to
Door Check Link Replacement

- Install the water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Install the door trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
