Tools Required

J 37043 Parking Brake Cable Release Tool

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the front parking brake cable (5) at the equalizer (3).



3. Disconnect the front parking brake cable mounting bracket (1)
4. Lower the vehicle.



5. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
6. Remove the carpet from the left side of the vehicle. Refer to Front Floor Panel Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.
7. Remove the parking brake cable (2) from the parking brake lever reel (1).



8. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever using the J 37043 .
9. Remove the front cable from the vehicle.

1. Install the front cable into the vehicle.
2. Connect the cable (2) to the parking brake lever.
3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.



4. Connect the front parking brake cable mounting bracket (1)



5. Connect the front parking brake cable (5) at the equalizer (3).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the carpet to the left side of the vehicle. Refer to Front Floor Panel Carpet Replacement in Interior Trim.
8. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
9. Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment .
