Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 291465 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR .
  3. Remove the windshield side upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  4. Remove the instrument panel defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .
  5. Remove the instrument panel endcaps. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
  6. Remove the instrument panel insulators. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side and Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  7. Remove the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  8. Remove the passenger inflator module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
  9. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  10. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  11. Remove the instrument panel cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  12. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  13. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.
  14. Remove the cup holder. Refer to Front Floor Console Cup Holder Replacement .
  15. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  16. Remove the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement .
  17. Remove the fog lamp switch. Refer to Fog Lamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  18. Remove the instrument panel upper bolt covers.
  19. Disconnect the electrical connections from the electrical junction box.
  20. Remove the screws (2,3,4) connecting the instrument panel (1) to the cross car beam (6).
  21. Remove the instrument panel (1) from the cross car beam (6).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 291465 Size: SH

    Important: When installing the instrumental panel carrier to the vehicle, ensure that the cowl seal is seated properly to the cowl. Failure to do so may cause a vibration rattle between the carrier and the cowl.

  1. Install the instrument panel (1) to the cross car beam (6).
  2. Install the screws (2,3,4) connecting the instrument panel (1) to the cross car beam (6).
  3. Connect the electrical connectors to the electrical junction box.
  4. Install the fog lamp switch. Refer to Fog Lamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  5. Install the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement .
  6. Install the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  7. Install the cup holder. Refer to Front Floor Console Cup Holder Replacement .
  8. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.
  9. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  10. Install the instrument panel cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  11. Install the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  12. Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  13. Install the passenger inflator module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in SIR.
  14. Install the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  15. Install the instrument panel insulators. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side and Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  16. Install the instrument panel endcaps. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
  17. Install the instrument panel defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .
  18. Install the windshield side upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  19. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
  20. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
