This bulletin is being revised to add the 2004 model year. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 02-08-64-023 (Section 08 - Body & Accessories).


Condition

Some customers may comment that the power window does not work.

Correction

The window motor is now available without the window regulator.

Replace the power window motor following the service procedure below:

  1. Remove the door trim following SI Document ID #632146 (Front Door Pontiac), #632148 (Rear Door Pontiac), #798690 (Front Door Oldsmobile), or #798691 (Rear Door Oldsmobile).
  2. Partially remove the top of the water deflector. Do not remove the bottom of the water deflector.
  3. Remove the motor from the regulator.
  4. Install the new motor to the regulator.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

  6. Reinstall the water deflector and door trim panel.
