Removal Procedure
- Remove the door trim panel from the inner door panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
or
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Reposition the top of the water deflector to gain access to the
lock and handle rods.
- Remove the door handle
bolt.
- Slide the handle forward in order to release the handle from the
inner door panel.
- Pull up on the lock and handle rods.
Rotate the handle in order to remove the rods.
- Remove the handle from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the lock and handle
rods to the door handle.
- Align the door handle to the inner door panel.
- Slide the handle rearward to secure the handle to
the inner door panel.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the door
handle bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- With firm hand pressure secure the top of the water deflector
to the inner door panel.
- Install the door trim panel to the inner door panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
