FOREMOST AMONG THESE IS TO VERIFY THE CONDITION BY ROADTESTING WITH THE OWNER IF POSSIBLE. PRE-CHECKS THE FOLLOWING ADJUSTMENTS SHOULD BE CHECKED PRIOR TO ANY REPLACEMENT OF PARTS: CARBURETORS #17081192 AND #17081198 - FAST IDEL CAM/CHOKE ROD 1ST TYPE (HAS "AH" CAM) 24 1/2F + 2F 2ND TYPE (HAS "T" CAM) 18F + 2F - PRIMARY VACUUM BREAK 1ST TYPE (HAS "AH" CAM) 28F + 2F 2ND TYPE (HAS "T" CAM) 28F + 2F - SECONDARY VACUUM BREAK 1ST TYPE (HAS "AH" CAM) 24F + 3F 2ND TYPE (HAS "T" CAM) 24F + 3F - FLOAT LEVEL, USING J-9789-130 (REFER TO 1980 SERVICE MANUAL) 1ST TYPE (HAS "AH" CAM) 3/8" + 1/16" 2ND TYPE (HAS "T" CAM) 3/8" + 1/16" - SLOW IDLE SPEEDS: - MINIMUM AUTHORITY 450 RPM - REFER TO ATTACHMENT "A" - MAXIMUM AUTHORITY 900 RPM - REFER TO ATTACHMENT "A" : DO NOT ATTEMPT ADJUSTMENT CHECKS UNTIL FAMILIAR WITH PROCEDURE DESCRIBED IN ATTACHMENT "A" - NEUTRAL/PARK SWITCH ADJUSTMENT - REFER TO ATTACHMENT "B" - CHECK ALL HOSE ROUTINGS, INCLUDING VACUUM BREAK HOSES AND PURGE HOSE CONNECTIONS - REFER TO EMISSION CONTROL LABEL EVERY EFFORT SHOULD BE MADE TO DETERMINE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE CHANGES BY ROADTESTING AFTER AN OVERNIGHT COLD SOAK. IF THE DRIVEABILITY CONDITION CONTINUES, THEN IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO INSTALL THE NEW FAST IDLE CAM, THE NEW CHOKE COVER ASSEMBLY AND THE NEW SECONDARY VACUUM BREAK WHICH ARE INCLUDED IN CHOKE AND CAM KIT #17068034.
