FORWARD CLUTCH HOUSING 250 TRANSMISSION-REVISION

A REVISION WAS MADE TO THE FORWARD CLUTCH HOUSING IN THE 250C TRANSMISSION ON OCTOBER 15, 1981. THIS REVISION FURTHER REQUIRED A NEW ROLLER BEARING BETWEEN THE FORWARD AND DIRECT CLUTCH HOUSINGS. THE REVISED HOUSING INCREASED THE WALL THICKNESS IN THE BEARING SEAT AREA BY ELIMINATING THE .080 RECESS. THE SERVICE PACKAGE FOR THE NEW FORWARD CLUTCH HOUSING, P/N 8641939, INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: 1 - 8641938 - FORWARD CLUTCH HOUSING. 1 - 9436851 - ROLLER BEARING ASSEMBLY 1 - 8641937 - INSTRUCTION SHEET THE SERVICE PACKAGE FOR THE NEW DIRECT CLUTCH DRUM ROLLER BEARING ASSEMBLY, P/N 8641936, IS AVAILABLE SEPARATELY AND INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: 1 - 9436851 - ROLLER BEARING ASSEMBLY 1 - 8641937 - INSTRUCTION SHEET NOTE: THE INSTRUCTION SHEET SPECIFIES THAT THE BEARING MUST BE INSTALLED WITH THE BLACK OXIDE RACE TOWARD THE FORWARD CLUTCH HOUSING. SERVICE INFORMATION (1) THE NEW REVISED FORWARD CLUTCH HOUSING MUST BE USED WITH THE NEW ROLLER BEARING ASSEMBLY. (2) THE PAST DESIGN ROLLER BEARING ASSEMBLY, 19428864, CANNOT BE USED WITH THE NEW FORWARD CLUTCH HOUSING OR INTERFERENCE WILL RESULT.
