THROWN OFF, BROKEN, OR WORN OR GLAZED ALTERNATOR BELTS MAY BE THE RESULT OF ALTERNATOR PULLEY MISALIGNMENT TO THE WATER PUMP AND CRANK- SHAFT PULLEYS. IF THIS CONDITION IS ENCOUNTERED, OBTAIN AND INSTALL THE FOLLOWING PARTS: 1. P/N 14079285, SPACER (REPLACES P/N 6262934 - 5.0L AND 5.7L). 2. P/N 14079284, SPACER (REPLACES P/N 3993312 - 3.8L). 3. P/N 14079250, BELT (REPLACES P/N 9433639). NOTICE: NEW PARTS AVAILABLE SOP 1984. ON THOSE 1982 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 70 AMP ALTERNATORS, THE EXISTING REAR BRACE, P/N 14017795, MUST BE REMOVED, ALTERED PER ILLUSTRATION #1, AND REINSTALLED. THE EXISTING BELT, P/N 9433744, MUST ALSO BE REINSTALLED OR REPLACED WITH A NEW BELT OF THE SAME PART NUMBER. IF MISALIGNMENT STILL EXISTS, REMOVE P/N 14034010, TOP ALTERNATOR BRACKET, EXTEND INLET MANIFOLD SLOT .08" (2MM) TOWARD FRONT OF VEHICLE AND REINSTALL (SEE ILLUSTRATION #2).
