QUARTZ CLOCK NOISY WHEN COLD REPLACEMENT CLOCK

1984-85 GRAND PRIX & BONNEVILLE CARS WITH U35 BASE OPTION

Some owners may comment on a noisy or squeaking clock, especially at low temperatures (below 20 DEG F). This is caused by loss of lubrication on an internal bearing.

This condition should be corrected by replacing the clock with a new one ordered through WDDGM (P/N 25076294) .

A quieter clock movement has been installed in clocks that have a date code after Julian date 1505 (May 30, 1985). This code is located on a white return tag on the rear of the clock. It is the last four digits of the seven digit number.

EXAMPLE: 4041505

Date Code (150th day of 1985)

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
