Some owners may comment on a noisy or squeaking clock, especially at low temperatures 7 DEG C (below 20 DEG F). This is caused by loss of lubrication on an internal bearing.
This condition should be corrected by replacing the clock with a new one ordered through General Motors of Canada Parts Department. (P/N 25076294).
A quieter clock movement has been installed in clocks that have a date code after Julian date 1505 (May 30, 1985). This code is located on a white return tag on the rear of the clock. It is the last four digits of the seven digit number.
EXAMPLE: 4041505 | | | | Date Code (150th. day of 1985)
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
