Some 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supremes may have a delamination of the Instrument Panel (I/P) pad near the glove box door latch knob.
The I/P pad may be reglued to the substrate using 3M (R) Super Weatherstrip Adhesive 80010 or equivalent.
1. Remove I/P upper pad. (Section 8C Service Manual).
2. Remove glove box latch and release assembly.
3. Abrade (sand) under surface of pad to remove shine, or carefully remove vinyl backing from foam pad. Do Not Damage Foam.
4. Apply a thin coat of 3M (R) 80010 or equivalent to surface of subtrate and the foam. Use a small brush to spread adhesive over all exposed surfaces. (Excessive amounts of adhesive will retard bonding time).
5. Press pad to substrate and reassemble parts previously removed.
