MODEL: 1991-94 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX WITH B4U OPTION
SOME OWNERS MAY EXPERIENCE RUBBING NOISES FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE DURING TURNS.
THE TIRE MAY BE CONTACTING THE LOWER FRONT EDGE OF THE WHEELHOUSE LINER (1994 MODEL ONLY PRIOR TO VIN BREAKPOINT RF216627), OR THE INNER EDGE OF THE REAR EXTERIOR MOLDING, WHEN MAKING A TURN (1991-94).
MODIFY THE EXISTING WHEELHOUSE LINER OR MOLDING USING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:
1. RAISE VEHICLE ON HOIST.
FOR TIRE CONTACT AT FRONT OF WHEELHOUSE LINER
2. USING THE DIMENSIONS IN FIGURE 1, VIEW A, LOCATE AND DRILL A 6.3 MM (1/4") HOLE IN THE FORWARD SURFACE OF THE LINER.
3. USING GM P/N'S 11501906 OR 12337820 BLACK TIE STRAP (OR EQUIVALENT), FASTEN THE WHEELHOUSE LINER TO THE FENDER BRACE (ITEM 3), AND PULL FORWARD UNTIL ADDITIONAL CLEARANCE IS OBTAINED.
4. REPEAT THE PROCEDURE FOR THE REMAINING SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, AND TRIM EXCESS TIE STRAP MATERIAL FROM BOTH LOCATIONS.
FOR TIRE CONTACT AT REAR TO EXTERIOR MOLDING
5. USING A UTILITY KNIFE OR OTHER SUITABLE TOOL, TRIM THE SHADED PORTION SHOWN IN FIGURE 1, VIEW B, TO PROVIDE CLEARANCE FOR THE TIRE TO MOLDING SURFACE.
6. LOWER VEHICLE AND REMOVE FROM HOIST.
