Removal Procedure

Important: Always maintain cleanliness when servicing fuel system components.


    Object Number: 50636  Size: SH
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Remove the modular fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the fuel level sensor (5) from the modular fuel sender.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 50636  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel level sensor (5) to modular fuel sender.
  2. Reinstall the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement .
  3. Tighten the fuel fill cap.
  4. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  5. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  6. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  7. 5.1. Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds
    5.2. Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10  seconds.
    5.3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    5.4. Check for fuel leaks.
