Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the left engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement in Body Front End.
  4. Use floor stands to support the transaxle.

  5. Object Number: 161244  Size: SH
  6. Remove the transaxle bracket to transaxle mount upper nuts.

  7. Object Number: 161241  Size: SH
  8. Remove the transaxle bracket to transaxle bolts.
  9. Remove the transaxle bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the transaxle bracket to the transaxle.

  2. Object Number: 161241  Size: SH
  3. Hand start the transaxle mount bracket to transaxle bolts.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the transaxle bracket bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Start with the forward lower bolt and work clockwise to tighten the transaxle bracket bolts to 95 N·m (70 lb ft).

  7. Remove the support from the transaxle.

  8. Object Number: 161244  Size: SH
  9. Install the transaxle bracket to the transaxle mount upper nuts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle mount upper nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  11. Install the left engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement in Body Front End.
  12. Install the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
