1. Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
3. Using a scan tool, communicate with the inflatable restraint control module.

1. If the vehicle is not equipped with the trip calculator, go to Step 5 .
2. Using a scan tool, communicate with the trip calculator.

Communication is established between the scan tool and the trip calculator.

Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with UART Data Line.

Using a scan tool, communicate with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Class II serial data line.

Communication is established between the scan tool and the PCM.

Scan Tool Does Not Communicate w/Class 2 Data Line.

1. If the vehicle is not equipped with a multi-disc CD player, go to Step 7 .
2. Using a scan tool, communicate with the multi-disc CD player.

Communication is established between the scan tool and the multi-disc CD player.

Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with E and C Data Line.

1. If the vehicle is not equipped with the head up display, go to Step 8 .
2. Using a scan tool, communicate with the head up display.

Communication is established between the scan tool and the head up display.

Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with E and C Data Line.

Using a scan tool, communicate with the radio.

Communication is established between the scan tool and the radio.
