Loose/worn joints from the column to the steering gear

Inspect the steering column joints. Replace the joints as necessary. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

Loose steering gear

Tighten the steering gear mounting bolts to specifications. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications

or Power Steering Gear Replacement.

Loose tie rods

1. Inspect the tie rods.
2. Replace the inner and outer tie rods if necessary. Refer to Tie Rod End Replacement - Outer or Tie Rod Replacement - Inner - Off Vehicle (Quiet Valve).

Worn wheel bearings

Replace the hub and bearing assemblies. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Bearing Replacement .
