The cancel cam is worn.

Replace the cam as needed.

The detent spring exhibits one of the following conditions:

1. Adjust the spring.
2. Replace the components as needed.

The return spring exhibits one of the following conditions:

1. Adjust the spring as needed.
2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

The cancel spring exhibits one of the following conditions:

1. Adjust the spring as needed.
2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

The switch mounting screws are loose.

Tighten the screws as needed. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

One of the following components is broken:

1. Repair the components as needed. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
